Where do they complete schoolwork?

The kiddos each receive a clipboard and can complete schoolwork under a shady tree or in the grass.

Curriculum

We follow the state standards for teaching kindergarten. We teach the alphabet, phonetics, counting, beginning math, sight words, and early science concepts. We utilize songs, flashcards, notebooks, sticks and sand to practice. Our teachers love to read to the students and we will explore stories from different cultures, stories that help develop social and emotional learning, and inspire a love for nature in the children. Creating art is another important part of your child's early development. They will have opportunities to paint, draw, and even use the nature around them to create masterpieces. Pre-K students will be supported at their own level, but alongside their older classmates.

Piano

We will be teaching the students piano using a portable keyboard. Ms. Sarina and or Mr. Jasper will be teaching music theory as well as how to play.

Spanish Lessons

Ms. Yalia and Mr. Anthony are our Spanish teachers. They will be teaching the students Spanish basics through stories, songs, and games. For students who have exposure to more Spanish, they can converse solely in Spanish for more of a Spanish immersion experience.

Music Class with Mr. Ryan!

Mr. Ryan's class is amazing! He brings instruments for all the students from ukele's to xylophones. The kids sing, dance, play, and learn in the interactive music class. Mr. Ryan's class is $15 extra a week. Check Mr. Ryan out on youtube or his website. https://www.mrryansmusicandbooks.com/

Marine Bio and Native Wildlife

Mr. Jasper is our expert on native plants and marine life in San Diego. At the beaches, we will be learning to identify marine life that can be found along our beautiful coasts. As the weather gets cooler and our class moves to the trails and canyons, our focus will shift to native animals, native and edible plants.

German Language

German learners will be supported by Ms. Sarina. Our director leads a German class for those kiddos signed up for it. Lessons include stories, beginner conversation, beginner vocabulary, and games led in German.
