Having the right clothing and tools is important to a successful day at school! Take a moment to read about how to best prepare your child for a fun day learning outside.
Please bring extra socks, undies, shirt, and pants to leave in their backpack just in case they get their first set dirty or wet.
Your bottom layer should be a thermal layer. This could be a tank top or a short sleeve short that is made out of a moisture wicking material. This is the layer that keeps the heat in and lets it out if the other layers are removed. On a cold day this layer is super important to help keep your child warm. On a hot day, we can remove their outer layers and have this as a short sleeve option. Overheating is just as dangerous as being too cold.
The second layer is a long sleeve shirt. The long sleeves protect your child from the sun and also help keep them warm if it's a cold day. Please have your child come in long pants, but have an extra pair of shorts in their bag if it gets too hot for them.
The third layer is a windproof jacket that has fleece on the inside. This last layer can be split into two layers. A sweater or a jacket topped with a windproof/waterproof raincoat OR an all in one jacket. This will help us stay cozy in any weather situation we might encounter during school.
UV protection clothing that are quick drying are great for warm days when we are going in the water. I recommend UV protection long sleeve rash guard shirt with rash guard pants. They are made of a UV protecting swimsuit material that can be worn in and out of the water. Please pack extra clothing for if your child would like to change after water play.
