For warm days when we are located at the bay, the schedule may differ slightly.
The kiddos each receive a clipboard and can complete schoolwork under a shady tree or in the grass.
We follow the state standards for teaching kindergarten. We teach the alphabet, phonetics, counting, beginning math, sight words, and early science concepts. We utilize songs, flashcards, notebooks, sticks and sand to practice. Our teachers love to read to the students and we will explore stories from different cultures, stories that help develop social and emotional learning, and inspire a love for nature in the children. Creating art is another important part of your child's early development. They will have opportunities to paint, draw, and even use the nature around them to create masterpieces. Pre-K students will be supported at their own level, but alongside their older classmates.
Mr. Ryan's class is amazing! He brings instruments for all the students from ukele's to xylophones. The kids sing, dance, play, and learn in the interactive music class.

Our teachers are knowledgable native plants and marine life in San Diego. At the beaches, we will be learning to identify marine life that can be found along our beautiful coasts. As the weather gets cooler and our class moves to the trails and canyons, our focus will shift to native animals, native and edible plants.
